Introducing an all new one-old-lady-show created by and starring Dummies Corp co-founder Simon Wright. Sweetie will debut to the world at Adelaide Fringe Festival from 18 February – 20 March.
A recipient of the 2022 Adelaide Fringe Artists Fund Grant, this powerful solo show is hilarious, inventive and thought-provoking. Blending physical comedy with world-class circus, Sweetie will hit you in the feels with its unique exploration of isolation and fear of the afterlife.

Written and directed by powerful multidisciplinary duo Hayden Spencer and Carita Farrer Spencer (Cirque du Soleil, Melbourne Theatre Company), Sweetie is a hopelessly hilarious yet heart-wrenching portrayal of the deep loneliness that can accompany ageing.

Simon Wright says that coping with loss is a key theme of the work.

Co-Director Hayden Spencer is thrilled to be working with Dummies Corp for the first time, after admiring the company’s work from afar.

In this all-new work, audiences will also get to experience the audacious displays of acrobatic feats and laugh-out-loud physical comedy that have seen Simon and the award-winning Dummies Corp enjoy worldwide success.

It’s time to turn up your hearing aid, dare to stay up past seven and join the most mischievous Granny in the retirement village as she makes her memorable debut at Adelaide Fringe.

Tickets are on sale now via Adelaide Fringe.
