Are you interested in developing your own cabaret show or need advice on how to take your show to the next level? Through working with Australia’s most influential cabaret performers, writers, directors, venue curators and producers over a 2-week period this June, you will devise and produce your own cabaret show and perform it at Hayes Theatre Co as part of its 2015 Cabaret Season.
Developed by the queen of cabaret, Queenie van de Zandt, the Cabaret Winter Workshop will be held this coming June in Sydney. Over two weeks, artists will participate in 20 master-classes run by the who’s who of cabaret including Paul Capsis, Trevor Ashley, Max Lambert, Neil Gooding and Mitchell Butel, to drop a few names! To see the full list of names check out the website.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
This workshop is designed for emerging and mid-career writers, producers and performers, 18 years and over, from all over Australia, who are interested in cabaret and would like to know how to create, produce or perform a cabaret either for themselves or for a group. Maybe you have an idea for a cabaret show and want help to develop it or maybe you need help in sparking the idea – in either case, this workshop will work for you. Be you a singer, writer, circus performer, stand-up comedian, songwriter, producer, actor or you don’t fit into any genre, come along and take this unique opportunity to spend time developing your show under the guidance of a who’s who of the cabaret industry in Australia.
