Australia’s Windmill Theatre brings its award-winning brilliant new production of School Dance to town as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
This is a story of three teenage boys. They're going to the school dance. They're on a mission. But they are losers. These three are the awkward kids. The invisible teens. Fuelled by a diet of raging hormones and mee goreng noodles, they exist in a misfit realm, navigating complex waters with little success. A game-changing new work of contemporary Australian theatre that, just like its central protagonists, is funny, sad, scary, weird, really stupid, endearing, hilarious and moving for anyone who has ever been a teenager…
From 5:45pm School Dance’s The Warm Up will see a host of ’80s-inspired dance routines and music fill the Playhouse Stalls Foyer before the show, including dance troupe The Real Hot Bitches and DJ set by Andrew McClelland’s Finishing School.
After the show School Dance’s Happy Snaps will introduce the Facebook generation to a host of retro paraphernalia, including Polaroid photography.
