The Producers 

New Brisbane based theatre company, Altitude Theatre has announced the cast of The Producers ahead of their inaugural 2021 season. The all-singing, all-dancing hit musical will have you laughing, crying, and cheering from your seats. Winner of 12 Tony Awards in 2001 including Best Musical and winner of 3 Olivier Awards in 2005 including Best New Musical, the show is one not to be missed.

Leading the cast are Matt Young (Yank!, Annie) as theatre producer, Max Bialystock, Mark Hill (Muriel’s Wedding, Mary Poppins) as accountant, Leo Bloom, and Rachael Ward (Chicago, Singin’ in the Rain) as blonde bombshell, Ulla. Joining them on stage are James Lee (Annie) as Roger De Bris, Alex Watson (FAME), Patrick Conolly (Return) as Franz Liebkind, Chloe Taylor as Hold Me, Touch Me & Ensemble, Jackson Reedman (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Stormtrooper & Ensemble, Maddison Coleman as Shirley Markowitz & Ensemble, Shay Debney (The Wizard of Oz) as Ensemble & Leo Bloom Cover, Stephen Hirst (The Boy from Oz) as Max Bialystock Cover & Roger De Bris Cover, Melissa Russo as Ensemble & Ulla Cover, Paul Roos as Ensemble & Carmen Chia Cover, Austin Cornish as Ensemble & Franz Liebkind Cover, Emma Whitefield as Ensemble, Tyson Stuetz as Ensemble, Dhuruva Padmanabham as Ensemble, Dominique Milne as Ensemble, Lachlan Griffith as Swing, Gabriella Boumford as Swing and Jasper Filshie as Swing.

Musical Mashup- High School Edition

Ana Maria Belo (Fame, Hair, In the Heights) and Margi de Ferranti (Mamma Mia!, In the Heights, Les Miserables) have launched the Musical Mashup workshops. Spend 6 days working with top industry professionals while learning songs from your favourite high school-themed musicals and create your very own scenes to perform in your own show!

The workshops will be held in NSW from January 11th to 16th, 2021, and are open to everyone between the ages of  9-17. Further information can be found obtained by emailing at [email protected]

Chloe Zuel and Tim McCallum

Sunday, November 26th saw Chloe Zuel (SIX, Beautiful) perform the National Anthem at the NRL Grand Final at Sydney’s ANZ stadium. Here is her beautiful rendition. Brisbane based performer, Tim McCallum performed the anthem at Saturday’s AFL final. We will share when we find a video. Well done Tim!


The Phantom of the Opera

Josh Piterman (The Phantom of the Opera) treated those riding the London tube this week to a serenading version of The Prayer alongside fellow performer, Welsh-born, Lucie Jones (Waitress). Enjoy!
