Miracle City to premiere in Melbourne
This week saw the announcement of the Melbourne Premiere of Nick Enright and Max Lambert’s hit musical Miracle City. Performances commence at the Athenaeum Theatre on February 9th, 2018.
Set in the 1980s, the show tells the story of the Truswells a religious family with a dream to build a religious theme park and the lengths they will go to to make their dream come true.

Three in the Bed
Hilarious new Australian musical Three in the Bed will return to Sydney’s New Theatre in January 2018 after their sell out season in September 2017.
Jessica has a crush on Tim who turns up to her party suddenly single, unfortunately Tim meets Zoe. Zoe thinks she has a way to make all parties happy, what could possibly go wrong?

Earlier this week saw a video of Ainsley Melham (Aladdin) singing ‘Proud of Your Boy’ from the show against the beautiful backdrop of a sunny Melbourne day.
Aladdin celebrates 500th show
Saturday, November 4th saw the Australian production of Aladdin celebrate their 500th show with a double show day at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne.
Aladdin is showing in Melbourne until early in the new year before touring Brisbane and Perth. Tickets can be purchased from http://liveshows.disney.com.
Rugby League World Cup
Congratulations to the musical theatre performers who have represented our community this past week at the Rugby League World Cup. Among those who have performed the pre game National Anthems is Ashleigh Rubenach (My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music).
Seb Witt wins place at prestigious UK School
12 year old Seb Witt (Les Miserables, Strictly Ballroom) has successfully auditioned for a place at one of the UK’s most prestigious school’s for young performers, London’s Sylvia Young Theatre School. Witt who trains at Brisbane’s Conroy Dance Centre will commence his studies there in September 2018. His ultimate goal is to perform on London’s West End.
Wizard of Oz commences previews in Brisbane
Thousands of excited theatre goers followed the Yellow Brick Road to QPAC’s Lyric Theatre as the new Australian tour of the timeless Wizard of Oz commenced previews on Saturday, November 4th.
Filling the big red shoes of the role made famous by Judy Garland is Samantha Dodemaide. Dodemaide is joined on stage by theatre veteran Anthony Warlow as Professor Marvel/ The Wizard, Jemma Rix as Miss Gulch/ Wicked Witch of the West and Lucy Durack as Glinda.
The Wizard of Oz plays at QPAC until December 3rd before flying by bubble to Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.

Let Me Entertain You! – The Robbie Williams Story
Ross Chisari (Aladdin, Ghost) presents Let Me Entertain You! – The Robbie Williams Story. The show explores the highs and lows of the rock legend’s career, his love life and his life- saving encounter with rehab.

Spirit of Christmas Concert- QPAC
2017 will see the stars return to the QLD Performing Arts Centre on December 22nd and 23rd for their annual Spirit of Christmas Concert. Performers already announced for this event are Simon Gleeson (Les Miserables) and Alinta Chidzey (West Side Story).

Side Show UK wins at West End Wilma Awards
Congratulations to the cast and crew of the UK production of Side Show on their Best Off West End Show award at the 2017 West End Wilma Awards. The ceremony was held on Friday, November 3rd. The cast included two Australians, Lala Barlow and David Muscat.
