Cabaret full cast announcement The full cast of The Hayes Theatre season’s production of Cabaret has been announced. Joining the already announced Paul Capsis, Kate Fitzpatrick and Debora Krizak are Chelsea Gibb (Chicago, Jerry’s Girls) as Sally Bowles, Marcus Graham (Rocky Horror Show), John O’May (Passion), Jason Kos (Cabaret, Miracle City), Michelle Barr (We Will Rock You), Matthew Manahan (WAAPA) and Michelle Smitheram (Georgy Girl). Dusty opens in MelbourneThe Production Company’s Melbourne season of Dusty opened at The Arts Centre on Saturday, November 12th 2016 and will run until Sunday, December 4th 2016. Tickets are available from: https://www.

Harvest Rain has announced the cast for their 2017 production of Grease. Playing Danny and Sandy are Drew Weston (Ghost) and Meghan O’Shea (Singin’ in the Rain). Weston and O’Shea will be joined by the T-Birds Barry Conrad (Hairspray) as Kenickie, Tim Carroll (Boys of Sondheim) as Roger, Barnaby Reiter (Hairspray) as Doody and Alex Woodward (Dogfight) as Sonny. The Pink Ladies are Ruby Clark (Hairspray) as Rizzo, Lauren McKenna (Heathers, Hairspray) as Jan, Stacey De Waard (Hairspray) as Frenchy and Emily Monsma (Hairspray) as Marty. The cast is completed by Australian Eurovision contestant Dani IM as Teen Angel, Tim Campbell (WICKED) as Johnny Casino and 97.3’s Terry Hansen as Vince Fontaine.
Hayes Theatre- 2017 season
On Monday, November 7th The Hayes Theatre of Sydney announced the first half of their 2017 season as well as the full Cabaret cast. The first half of 2017 includes:
Calamity Jane (March 8th- April 1st) starring Virginia Gay (High Society, Jerry’s Girls) and Laura Bunting (Side Show, RENT), Big Fish (casting to be announced at a future date) and Only Heaven Knows starring Hayden Tee (Les Misérables), Matthew Backer (Jersey Boys) and Blazey Best (Fawlty Towers). Congratulations Mr and Mrs Anderson On Monday, November 7th Justin Anderson (We Will Rock You, WICKED) and Deanna O’Leary (WICKED) were married in front of family and friends in Byron Bay. Theatre People congratulate and wish Mr and Mrs Anderson the best of future together.

Les Misérables Australia, Singapore, West End and Dubai star Patrice Tipoki has released a Christmas single titled “Christmas All Year Long” and features Brisbane based guitarist Lorin Nicholson. You can purchase “Christmas All Year Long” from iTunes.

AUSSIES ABROAD
Australians to perform in UK production of Strictly Ballroom
The UK production of Strictly Ballroom opens at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on November 30th, 2016 and runs until January 21st, 2017. The cast of international performers includes three Australians; Tamsin Carroll, Richard Grieve and Fernando Mira.
Carroll who is known to Australian theatre audiences as Nancy in Oliver!, Dusty in the 2006 Australian production of Dusty- The Original Pop Diva (winning the Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Musical in 2003 and 2006 respectively) and Rizzo in Grease- The Arena Spectacular. Carroll will be portraying Scott’s mother Shirley Hastings.
Hong Kong born actor Richard Grieve has worked extensively in film, television, theatre and musical theatre. Grieve played Greg Connell in the world premiere in The Boy From Oz and is well known in Australia for his roles on television series Home and Away and Neighbours.
Fernando Mira will portray the role of Rico, the character he played in the most recent Australian production of Strictly Ballroom that toured Australia.
