Fangirls- Return Season

After a sold-out run, where even standing room tickets were snapped up in a day, Fangirls is returning next year, kicking off Belvoir’s 2021 season before heading off on an interstate tour. Written by Yve Blake, the show which won the 2019 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Mainstage Musical tells the story of Edna. She’s 14, finding her feet, and head over heels in love with the most ridiculously beautiful boy she’s ever seen, Harry. There’s just one problem:

Harry is in ‘True Connection’,  the biggest boyband in the world. But for an industrious scholarship girl like Edna, that’s only a hurdle, because nothing will get in her way of meeting Harry, and proving to him that she, more than anyone else in his legion of screaming fans, understands the real him.

The show will play at The Seymour Centre from Saturday, January 30th, 2021 with the talented Karis Oka (SIX) playing Edna. Tickets are on sale from tonight at https://belvoir.com.au/

Anything but Fine

Congratulations to Tobias Madden (CATS) on the news that his new Young Adult’s novel, “Anything But Fine” will be published in the USA in 2022! The book will be published in Australia in 2021.

Luca Mason has been preparing to audition for the Australian Ballet School for more than a decade when a missed step on a flight of stairs lands him in hospital. But it’s not all bad—as Luca settles into a life of doctor’s appointments, unwieldy crutches, and absolutely no ballet (and no, he does not want to talk about it) he strikes up an unlikely friendship with the perfect-in-every-way rowing star of his new school, Jordan Tanaka-Jones.

Congratulations Tobias!
