Congratulations to the company of Dream Lover who have broken the Arts Centre, Melbourne record for the highest selling show ever to perform there. Dream Lover‘s final performance was today.

Mamma Mia! celebrates 100 shows

New Rocky Horror cast members announced for Melbourne
The Rocky Horror Show is teleporting itself to Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from July 13th and with it comes theatre veteran Todd McKenney (The Boy From Oz, Annie) who will portray Frank ‘N’ Furter while Shane Jacobson (Guys and Dolls, The Drowsy Chaperone) takes on the role of the narrator.

Theatre People Industry Night
Theatre People’s Industry Nights are back for 2018! Featuring a large cast of Australia’s finest musical theatre talent, the March edition is certain to be a hit. Performers include Angela Scundi (NINE, Tick Tick Boom), Adam Noviello (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Matilda), Gillian Cosgriff (8 Songs in 8 Weeks) and Kerrie Anne Greenland (Paris: A Rock Odyssey, Les Miserables).

A Little Night Music
Thursday, March 1st saw the opening of A Little Night Music at The National Theatre, Melbourne. It is midsummer in Sweden. On a magical night that smiles three times, an ageing actress, a married virgin, a sex-starved divinity student and a buffoonish count are drawn into a tangled and hilarious web of love affairs. Featuring a lush score including ‘A Weekend In The Country’, ‘Liaisons’ and the ever-popular ‘Send In The Clowns’, A Little Night Music is a romantic tour-de-force.
The show returns for a sold out season in Nunawading on March 9th and 10th.
On Wednesday, February 28th Green Day’s high octave rock ‘n’ roll musical American Idiot opened at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre ahead of the season that runs until March 11th before seasons in Brisbane and Darwin.

Ladies Day Luncheon- Adelaide 500
Jemma Rix (Wizard of Oz, WICKED), Samantha Dodemaide (Wizard of Oz, Singin’ in the Rain) and Amy Lehpamer (Beautiful, Sound of Music) performed at the Adelaide 500 on Thursday, March 1st. Rix and Dodemaide will be part of the Adelaide Festival Theatre season which commences on April 1st while Lehpamer who has just ended her run as Cynthia Weil in Beautiful will appear in The Production Company’s production of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.
Birth: Frankie Pollard
Congratulations to Jordan Pollard (Singin’ in the Rain) and Cristina D’Agostino (Strictly Ballroom) on the birth of their baby girl Frankie. Frankie was born on February 21st, mum and baby are doing well.
Congratulations to Shannon O’Shea Burns (Grease) on the announcement that her and her husband Warren are expecting their second child due in August 2018.
