Opening Night: The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell in Pantoland
Tinkerbell’s magic swept over Sydney’s State Theatre on Friday 7 July at the opening of the Sydney Season of Bonnie Lythgoe’s The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell in Pantoland. From all reports, it was a truly magical and enjoyable evening.

My Fair Lady celebrates their 200th show
The Australian company of My Fair Lady danced all night for the 200th time this week. The occasion was marked with a cake. There are only three weeks of the Melbourne season remaining before the company returns to Sydney for a return season at the Capitol Theatre.

On 2 October, the Regent Theatre, Melbourne will host the 2017 edition of Twisted Broadway, a night of frivolity and fun as Australia’s premier performers sing songs originally written for the opposite gender. This week saw the script in hand production of MAME open at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre. MAME runs until 9 July with a sold out season.
New Production Company
Mark Taylor and James Pope have created Hucklebuck Productions and are focused on bringing new Australian works to our stages.

Grease the Arena Experience
The Newcastle season of Harvest Rain’s production, Grease the Arena Experience opens on Friday 14 July at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre and runs until Sunday 16 July. Matilda hits 750 shows
Now in Adelaide, the Australian tour of Matilda is celebrating its 750th show on Sunday 9 July.

Cabaret in the Glen
Glen Street Theatre is proud to announce the program for the inaugural Cabaret in the Glen, the first cabaret festival on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and North Shore. Talented Australian theatre performer, Jemma Rix (WICKED)
It is shaping up to be a huge last few months for Rix as she launches her CD at Hayes Theatre on August 20th (tickets can be purchased from Hayes Theatre) and will appear as Teen Angel in the Harvest Rain production of Grease which continues in Newcastle, opening on 14 July.
Rix is also the subject of Brisbane-based artist Darlene Lavett’s Archibald prize entry.
