Rescheduled Dates announced for Friends! The Musical Parody
The Australian tour of the hilarious New York and Las Vegas hit Friends! The Musical Parody has being re-scheduled. Don’t worry, we will still be there for you! Due to government restrictions still in place to slow the spread of COVID-19, Friends! The Musical Parody national tour will now open in Melbourne in November, followed by seasons in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney. Current ticket holders will be contacted by their ticket agent or venue to change the date of their performance.

Last Chance to Watch as Who’s Your Baghdaddy? closes tonight
Following a successful season during the initial season of Who’s Your Baghdaddy? or How I Started the Iraq War, Curveball Creations has made the show available On Demand until midnight tonight (Sunday, July 12th).
Australia’s first musical performed and streamed live, Who’s Your Baghdaddy? or How I started the Iraq War is presented as a zoom support group for people who started the Iraq War, this dark, boisterous and irreverent story follows a handful of mid-level spies whose vanity and office politics contributed to the worst intelligence blunder in modern history. The Australian Premiere of this 2017 hit Off- Broadway musical was presented by Curveball Creative and directed by Neil Gooding.

Claire’s Kitchen presents Jacqui Dark
With Claire’s Kitchen now permitting 30 guests at their cabaret events, be quick to grab your tickets to hear Jacqui Dark (The Sound of Music) perform on Thursday, August 13th at 6:00pm.
Dark is a multiple Helpmann and Green Room Award winning Australian mezzo-soprano. Her performance experience encompasses opera, music theatre, cabaret and concert performances and includes the roles of Fricka and Second Norn (Der Ring Des Nibelungen), Amneris (Aida) The Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Carmen (Carmen), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Katisha (The Mikado), Dorabella (Così Fan Tutte), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana) and Herodias (Salome).
Jacqui sang as a soloist in the gala concert to open Melbourne’s Hamer Hall and created the cabaret duo Strange Bedfellows with Kanen Breen. She has appeared on television on So You Think You Can Dance and as a guest panellist on the popular music quiz show Spicks and Specks. She performed the role of Amnerias in Aida as a part of the Opera on Sydney Harbour series by Opera Australia.

Celebrating Michael Falzon
Friday, July 10th saw Michael Falzon farewelled in a beautiful ceremony at Sydney’s Coliseum Theatre. With beautiful, endearing words spoken by family and friends and performances by close colleagues and love filled performances culminating in a standing ovation as his coffin was carried out of the theatre. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Michael’s family encourages you to make a donation towards clinical trials and germ cell cancer research at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse.

Applications Open for 2020 Rob Guest Endowment Awards
Applications are now open for the 2020 Rob Guest Endowment, one of Australia’s most exciting scholarship programs providing financial assistance and industry support to the next generation of musical theatre stars. Previous winners include Annie Aitken (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Daniel Assetta (West Side Story), Blake Bowden (The Book of Mormon), Francine Cain (Grease), Samantha Dodemaide (The Wizard of Oz), Glenn Hill (Jersey Boys), Georgina Hopson (Evita) and Joshua Robson (My Fair Lady).
Boasting the largest single Musical Theatre scholarship in Australia, a $50,000 prize along with the coveted RGE Trophy, applications are open through the website www.robguestendowment.com.au and close on Friday 7 August. The competition is now offered biennially, with the second place winner receiving $5,000 and four runners-up receiving $1,500 each.
Performers should apply through the Rob Guest Endowment online portal on the website. Applicants will be required to submit a video audition for the first round. Applicants need to complete an introduction to camera as well as a chosen song from the musical theatre genre. The vocal element is essential but dramatic or dance elements are welcomed.

Theatre In A Box is a party board game for musical theatre lovers, created by Brenton Crewes, Flynn Crewes & Paul Morrison however they need your help to make it a reality! Theatre in a Box is is on Kickstarter and will only come to fruition if the project is financially supported on Kickstarter.
As of 8:00am AEST on Saturday, July 12th, the campaign has raised $28,130.00 with 265 backers. With $11,830.00 needed before the campaign ends at midnight on Thursday, July 30th, we ask you do dig deep and pledge.

ICMEAA: MEAA Indigenous Committee
Congratulations to the MEAA (Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance) on the launch of their Indigenous Committee website. The ICMEAA is open to all First Nations actors, crew, dance troupes, journalists, traditional dancers and visual artists. The website can be found at https://icmeaa.org/ . The NSW Government has announced a $50 million rescue and restart package for NSW arts and cultural organisations to ensure the sector continues to make an important contribution to the NSW economy during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rescue and Restart package is intended to support arts and cultural organisations across NSW.
The NSW Government recognises the important contribution the arts and cultural sector makes to the NSW economy, as well as to the community’s wellbeing, particularly during challenging times.
The Rescue and Restart package will be delivered in two stages:
- Funding available now to enable NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations to hibernate temporarily.
- Funding available in the coming months to enable NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations to restart operations after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funding will be available to NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations across the State on a case by case basis.

Held on Thursday, July 9th at the Sydney Opera House, performers from across multiple disciplines teamed up with The Sydney Symphony Orchestra to raise funds for the Actors Benevolent Funds and Trusts in each state, as well as Support Act, recently founded to support actors, musicians and arts workers who are struggling as a result of shutdowns.
