Einstein: Master of the Universe began performances at Theatre Works, St Kilda on June 30th. The show celebrates the man behind the science and tells his story to the world. What better time to do it then the 100th anniversary of when Einstein discovered the Theory of Relativity and the world’s most famous equation E=mc2.

Matilda the Musical coming to Adelaide in May 2017

Matilda the Musical announced this week they will be taking the highly successful show to Adelaide in May 2017.

From Sydney with Love

Trevor Ashley, Catherine Alcorn and George Youakim in association with ACON, the city of Sydney and the Australian theatre community will be hosting a benefit night for Orlando called From Sydney with Love: A Concert for Orlando. Hosted by Magda Szubanski, Simon Burke, Joel Creasey and Bob Downe the night includes performances from performers such as Paul Capsis, Emma Matthews, Simon Burke, Virginia Gay, IOTA and more.

Jacqueline Dark

Australian opera singer Jacqueline Dark (currently appearing as Mother Abbess in Sound of Music) has been named as a Distinguished Alumna by Federation University Australia. Jacqueline completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physics) and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education here. Congratulations Jacqueline.

Theatre Soccer Day
Members of the Australian theatre community held a soccer match and fundraiser for Beyond Blue on Monday, June 27th. In very muddy conditions the Blue Team prevailed in penalty shootouts 5-4. Most importantly $581.85 was raised.

Caroline O’Connor
Caroline O’Connor (Funny Girl, Anything Goes) will reprise the role of Lily in Anastasia on Broadway next year. Shows begin at Broadhurst Theatre on April 24th .

Declan Egan and Matt Hunt
Declan and Matt are currently appearing in Jersey Boys in London. Declan is performing as Bob Gaudio and Matt is performing as Nick Massi. This is the West End debut for both performers.

Douglas Hansell (WAAPA) is currently making his London stage debut as 2nd class passenger Charles Clarke in Titanic the Musical at Charing Cross Theatre. The show runs until August 6th.

Rebel Wilson
Guys and Dolls UK opened on the West End on Tuesday, June 28th. Australian performer Rebel Wilson will appear as Miss Adelaide at the Phoenix Theatre until August 21st .

Sarah Bakker
Brisbane born and trained performer Sarah Bakker performed the role of ensemble/ dance captain and understudied Peggy in Mrs Henderson Presents at The Noel Coward Theatre, London. The show was nominated for four Olivier Awards in 2016.

Suzie Mathers (WICKED) begins rehearsals in a few weeks for her role as Glinda in the London production of WICKED. This week Suzie had a costume fitting for the show. Her first show is September 5th.
