Come From Away Soars Into Sydney

Tickets for the rescheduled Sydney season of the hit musical, Come From Away are now on sale at https://comefromaway.com.au/tickets/sydney/ ahead of the June 3rd, 2021 commencement date.

Come From Away tells the true story of a remote island community that rallied to care for the 7000 passengers and crew of 38 international flights diverted there after the terror attacks on the US on September 11, 2001. Those flights arrived in Gander, on the Canadian island of Newfoundland, where locals opened their hearts and homes to stranded travellers.

Rob Guest Endowment Awards Semi-Finalists Announced

After online auditions conducted over the past few weeks, the 30 Semi-Finalists for the 2020 Rob Guest Endowment Award were announced today. The Rob Guest Endowment committee is pleased to announce the following Semi-Finalists who will perform for a panel of judges to determine the six finalists for the 2020 Rob Guest Endowment Award:

A Letter For Molly– Workshop Trailer

A Letter For Molly is a play written by proud Gumbaynggirr and Turkish woman, Brittanie Shipway. Here is the behind the scenes video featuring some of the magic created by performers Ursula Yovich, Angeline Penrith, Christie Hayes, Lorinda May Merryporr and Joel Granger in the preliminary workshop process of the play, as funded by the Belvoir: Shutdown Residency, NSW Create, and the Australia Council for the Arts.

Swing On This

In celebration of the late Michael Falzon, Swing On This, in partnership with the Sydney Opera House have released a video, captured live in concert at the Sydney Opera House in 2018, with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vanessa Scammell.

Swing On This brings together Michael Falzon, Luke Kennedy, Rob Mills, and Ben Mingay with their take on all-time swing classics, from Sinatra to Bublé and hits from Oasis, John Farnham and The Proclaimers.

In memory of Michael Falzon, you can make a donation towards research and clinical trials for germ cell cancer and other lesser-known cancers at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, the largest not-for-profit cancer clinical trial centre in New South Wales.

Tom Sharah (Muriel’s Wedding, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) and his self taught guitar playing, songwriting brother Oscar Sharah recently released a cover of Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande’s ‘Rain On Me’. Here is the video clip.


Natalie O’Donnell and Simon Gleeson

Friday, August 21st saw Australian theatre power couple Natalie O’Donnell (Mamma Mia!, Songs For A New World) and Simon Gleeson (Les Miserables, Oklahoma) perform onstage at the Geelong Arts Centre. During this harrowing time, O’Donnell and Gleeson, who live in Geelong, are revelling at the opportunity to be spending time at home with their family including the couple’s two children, Molly and Rafferty.

The show entwines comical narratives with heartfelt reflection through songs such as ‘Leavin’s Not the Only Way to Go’, ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’, and ‘Lullaby’.

Hayden Tee (Les Miserables, Matilda) will portray the wicked stepsister in GMG Productions Panto, Cinderella. The show opens on December 15th, 2020, showing for 9 shows only at New Zealand’s Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch.
