Cast Announcement: Evie May

The cast of new Australian Musical, Evie May: A Tivoli Story has been announced ahead of their 2018 season which begins previews at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre on October 12th.

With books and lyrics by Hugo Chiarella and music and lyrics by Naomi Livingston, the show tells the story the veteran variety star Evie May, a young performer from Regional Western Australia and her rise to become one of Australia’s most talented performers.

In 1966, on the evening of the last ever Tivoli performance in Sydney, Evie May (Amanda Harrison) recalls the events that lead her from obscurity in regional Western Australia to the bright lights of the Australian variety circuit and the many sacrifices she made to get there.

Joining Harrison on stage are Loren Hunter (The Boy From Oz, Rent) as the younger Evelyn May Murphy, Keegan Joyce (Big River, ONCE) as Cole, Tim Draxl (Only Heaven Knows, A Place to Call Home) as Heaney, Jo Turner (Avenue Q) as Barlow and Bishanyia Vincent (Starfish) as Margaret & June.

Neglected Musical announcement: Meet Me in St Louis

This week saw the announcement of Neglected Musicals’ production of the heartwarming Meet Me In St Louis. Set in the summer of 1903, and the Smith family eagerly anticipates the opening of the 1904 World’s Fair. Over the course of a year, the family’s mutual respect, tempered with good-natured humour, helps them through romance, opportunity, and heartbreaks.

Starring Kerrie Anne Greenland (Les Miserables), Meet Me in St. Louis features memorable musical numbers including Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, The Boy Next Door, The Trolley Song, and Whenever I’m with You.

The show will run for a limited time at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre from September 26th, 2018 with tickets available from

This weekend sees the closure of The Rocky Horror Show and The Boy From Oz after successful, well-attended performances.

The Rocky Horror Show starring Todd McKenney as Frank ‘n’ Furter has had seasons in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne where they finish tomorrow with all remaining tickets on sale for $30.00 from

The Boy From Oz  has dazzled Melbourne audiences for the last few weeks as part of The Production Company’s 20th season. Rohan Browne has wowed theatregoers with his portrayal of Peter Allen earning outstanding reviews. Steve Danielsen and Elise McCann

Congratulations to Steve Danielsen (Book of Mormon) and Elise McCann (Matilda) who sung the Australian anthem at the Bledisloe Cup mens and womens games respectively on  anthems at Bledisloe Cup event on Saturday, August 18th 2018.

Josh Piterman and Mirusia

Theatre performers and classical crossover artists Josh Piterman (Beautiful, CATS) and Mirusia (Andre Rieu soloist, Queensland Pops Orchestra) performed together in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall on Thursday, August 23rd as promotion for their CDs.

Performing numbers including ‘Hallelujah’, ‘The Prayer’and ‘Memory’ their three performances drew great admiration from both the audiences gathered and passerbys.

Piterman is currently performing in Beautiful which is on for only one more week only at QPAC while Mirusia is on tour performing a series of solo concerts across Australia. The artists’ solo CDs can be are purchased from their websites below-

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

Thursday, August 23rd saw the opening of hit Australian musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at Adelaide’s Festival Theatre. Tony Sheldon, David Harris and Euan Doidge  portray Bernadette, Tick and Felicia, three performers on their way from Sydney to Alice Springs on their bus, Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

The atmosphere on opening night was brimming with the joy and were treated to outstanding performances from all involved, including young professional musical debutant William Fleming who played Tick’s son Benji.

Thursday was a double celebration for the cast who celebrated the 200th performance of the show. Priscilla runs in Adelaid until September 15th before moving to Brisbane. Tickets and further information can be found at
