Cabaret Melbourne: cast change

Seasoned performers Michael Cormick (Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables) and Angelique Cassimatis (Little Shop of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Show) will join the cast of Cabaret for the Melbourne season. Cabaret runs from April 27th to May 20th at the Athenaeum Theatre. Tim Draxl joins cast of Only Heaven Knows

Helpmann Award and Logie Award nominee Tim Draxl has been announced as the final cast member of Only Heaven Knows, playing the role of Cliff.

Grease- The Arena Experience

Friday, April 7th saw the first shows of Harvest Rain’s Grease – The Arena Experience performed at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. With a brilliant cast including Dami Im as Teen Angel and a local mass ensemble, it is a wonderful show and not to be missed. Friday, April 7th saw the company of My Fair Lady celebrate their 100th show tonight at Brisbane’s QPAC. My Fair Lady is in Brisbane until April 30th. Congratulations everyone!

My Fair Lady announces their official charity partner

This week saw the announcement that Opera Australia’s My Fair Lady will partner with the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. The initiative will see the awareness and much needed funds raised. There will be bucket collections held at all Brisbane performances from April 21st- 23rd and dress rehearsal fundraisers as well as bucket collections in Melbourne and Sydney.

Underground Broadway

Monday, April 3rd saw the Autumn edition of Underground Broadway held at Brisbane’s New Globe Theatre. With performances from talented juniors and up and coming Brisbane performers as well as Grease- The Arena Experience cast members Ruby Clark, Barry Conrad, Lauren McKenna, Barnaby Reiter and Drew Weston and My Fair Lady cast members Kate Maree Hoolihan, Georgina Hopson, James Lee, Holly Meegan, Joel Parnis and Greta Sherriff. Highlights of the evening included Ruby Clark’s rendition of ‘Over the Moon’ from RENT and Drew Weston’s rendition of ‘The Wizard and I’ from WICKED.

Hayden Tee

April 22nd will see Hayden Tee’s last performance as Javert in the West End’s production of Les Miserables before he flies to Australia to begin rehearsals for Only Heaven Knows which will play at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre from May 26th, 2017.

Singin’ in the Rain taps into Tokyo 

Monday, April 3rd saw the Japanese production of Singin’ in the Rain open in Tokyo. Between performances the Australian cast members are enjoying the sites such as museums and the spectacular cherry blossom trees.
