Current Gypsy Cloak handed to Muriel’s Wedding’s Jan Di Pietro

Saturday, April 6th saw the handover of the current Australian Gypsy Cloak from Jersey Boy’s Cameron MacDonald to Muriel’s Wedding’s Jan Di Pietro. Di Pietro has previously appeared in Sweet Charity, Anything Goes, The Boy From Oz, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Singin’ in the Rain and Dream Lover. Congratulations Jan!

Tour Announcement: Chicago

Chicago, winner of 6 Tony Awards and 2 Olivier Awards will head to Brisbane and Melbourne after seasons for the two cities were announced on Tuesday, April 2nd. Chicago will open in August at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre before moving to Brisbane’s QPAC Lyric Theatre in November and Melbourne’s Arts Centre in December.

Now in its 36th year, the Green Room Awards Association (GRAA) is Victoria’s peak body for honouring excellence and innovation across our vibrant Arts sector.

Opening Night: Saturday Night Fever

Opening Night: The Last Five Years

On Wednesday, April 3rd, The Last Five Years  opened at The Ensemble Theatre in Sydney. Starring Christian Charisiou (Cry Baby) as Jamie and Elise McCann (Matilda) as Cathy, The Last Five Years tells the story of two young and ambitious New Yorkers. Cathy is an actor. Jamie is a writer, Cathy and Jamie fall in love and dive head first into a relationship.

Beetlejuice

The Broadway production of Beetlejuice has new music and lyrics by Australian Eddie Perfect (King Kong). “I was in a really fortunate position to have a great, funny and surprisingly moving script in my hands to go off of,” says Perfect.
