Greenroom Project Junior- January 16th
On Monday, January 16th Greenroom Project Junior will be held at The Arts Centre on Queensland’s Gold Coast. Featuring Australian songstress Marina Prior (The Sound of Music) together with young performers including Jake Binns (Matilda), Izellah Connelly (Matilda) and Luke Harrison (The Sound of Music). Home Grown to debut in Adelaide

On Tuesday, January 10th the Australian company of Kinky Boots celebrated their 100th show. Currently showing at Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre until March 12th, Kinky Boots will open up shop at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre on April 12th. To purchase tickets head to: http://kinkybootsthemusical.
Luke Harrison Album to be released next month

Melody Beck to bring tribute to Marni Nixon to Canberra
On Saturday, January 28th acclaimed performer Melody Beck brings her show UNSEEN: A Tribute to Marni Nixon to Canberra’s Vivaldi’s Restaurant. Marni Nixon dubbed the singing voices of many well known performers in movies including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Moreno and Deborah Kerr.

Rain to fall for the last time for Singin’ in the Rain on January 22nd
After 8 months on the road and a tour that spanned 5 cities, Singin’ in the Rain will close its curtains for the last time on Sunday, January 22nd. Currently playing at Perth’s Crown Theatre, if you haven’t seen the show yet you have one more week. Congratulations to the cast and crew on a great tour !
Swing Appreciation Day
Where would the Australian theatre community be without our valued swings? Swings are performers who learn many tracks in the show they are a part of. They must be ready at any time (including mid show) to go on. On Friday, January 13th it was Swing Appreciation Day and we at Theatre People would like to pass on a huge thank you to the swings of the Australian theatre community.

John O’Hara to perform in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
John O’Hara (Dusty, Songs for a New World, WICKED) will be starting rehearsals in Florida, USA this week before he sets sail on the Norwegian Epic where he will be portraying Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Chookas John!
