The highly anticipated Australian premiere of Grey Gardens is now only five weeks from opening. Given the scarcity of musical openings in Melbourne this half of 2011, excitement and interest are sure to be higher than ever.


Brought to worldwide attention in the 1975 documentary Grey Gardens, the aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy are two highly unique characters.  Casting for the musical premiere could not be stronger with Pamela Rabe as the eccentric ‘Little’ Edie and Nancye Hayes as her decrepit mother ‘Big’ Edie. Broadway’s Christine Ebersole won the 2007 Best Actress Tony Award for her portrayal of ‘Little’ Edie.
