A Chorus Line
After Covid cancellations stopped the performers in their tracks, Darlinghurst Theatre Company has announced that A Chorus Line will return to the stage in August 2021. Based on the real-life anecdotes of 24 dancers, which explore bullying, racism, sexism, power and passion, this strikingly intimate production in our 200 seat theatre will feature entirely new choreography from Director and Choreographer, Amy Campbell.
A Chorus Line revolutionised the notion of what a musical could be, when it opened in 1975 and placed itself firmly as an icon in the echelons of music theatre, running for a mighty 15 years.
The cast will be announced soon. To follow updates and purchase tickets, head to https://www.darlinghursttheatre.com/achorusline
The Story Chunder
The Story Chunder is back!
After an extended period without live shows, The Story Chunder is back. Hosted by Brisbane based actor, Matt Young (The Producers), the Brisbane Theatre Community are invited to a night of storytelling and socialising.
Just when you thought they would only be showing once, Darlinghurst Theatre Company’s production of the classic boy meets girl tale is back.
Jay Laga’aia joins Australian musical theatre stars, Toby Francis (Kinky Boots) and Stefanie Caccamo (Beautiful), who are returning to the roles inspired by the love story of ONCE’s songwriters, the Grammy Award®-winning folk duo of Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová.
Performing alongside Francis, Caccamo and Laga’aia will be Victoria Falconer, Drew Livingston, Abe Mitchell, Rupert Reid, Alec Steedman, who are all returning after performing in the original 2019 season. They are joined by cast newcomers, Tamlyn Henderson, Deirdre Khoo, Patrick Schnur and Jennifer Trijo, who is also Associate Musical Director.
Tickets for the Sydney season and New South Wales tour are now on sale. Full dates can be found at https://www.theatrepeople.com.au/2021-cast-announced-for-once/. Further dates to be announced soon.
Congratulations to Stefanie (Singin’ in the Rain, Grease) on her marriage to Cam on Friday, May 7th 2021. The two wed in a beautiful ceremony in front of family and friends at Lancemore Lindenderry Red Hill. We wish you the best of futures together.
