HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

On Sunday, July 18th, there will be an audio described performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre. Part one will be performed at 2:00 pm and part two at 7:30 pm.

LET’S HANG ON

Let’s Hang On is the Music from Jersey Boys Orchestrated! The Original Stars of the Hit Musical Jersey Boys Australia-  Bobby Fox (Dusty, Ladies in Black), Stephen Mahy (Grease, The Wedding Singer), Scott Johnson (Paris: A Rock Odyssey, Little Shop of Horrors), and Glaston Toft (Oklahoma!, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) are finally reunited backed by a full band and a 24 Piece Symphony Orchestra Conducted by George Ellis.

The show will feature all the famous dance moves and the Very Best of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons including “December 1963 (Oh What A Night)”, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Sherry”,” Walk Like A Man”, “Working My Way Back To You”, “Let’s Hang On” + more for a night of toe-tapping, sing-along entertainment!

CATHERINE AND FRIENDS

Sydney is in lockdown once again, and our industry finds itself decimated once more. This time without JobKeeper or Jobseeker, so it seems we must take matters into our own fabulous hands.
After her ABC News piece on Sydney’s Arts and Entertainment industry last week, Catherine Alcorn was approached to perform a live-stream show from The Concourse Theatre, Chatswood.
Performers include  Catherine Alcorn, Jason Arrow (Hamilton), Jacqui Dark (Black Rider, The Sound of Music) and iOTA. The event will be held digitally on Friday, July 16th at 8:30 pm AEST. Tickets are $24.00 ($20.00 goes straight to the artists). They can be purchased from Standing With Sydney.

Congratulations to Phoebe Panaretos (American Idiot, Strictly Ballroom) on her wedding to Adam. The two wed in a small London ceremony on Saturday, June 26th. We wish you both all the best for the future.

 

 

ENGAGEMENT: ANDY MCGUIRE AND NATALIE PILKINGTON

While, strictly speaking, they aren’t Australian, we would like to share with you Andy and Natalie’s engagement story and video. Andy McGuire and Natalie Pilkington met when performing in a pantomime four and a half years ago. Natalie, who didn’t even know that Andy was at the theatre (Natalie is currently a Super Swing in the UK Tour of SIX, on for Anne Boyeln on the night in question) on Saturday, July 3rd.

MIKAYLA JADE

Congratulations to the West End cast of Frozen who have commenced rehearsals ahead of the show’s opening on Friday, August 27th. Appearing on stage in her West End debut is Brisbane born performer, Mikayla Jade. Mikayla is the first female performer to play the role of Sven.
