Today is a bitter sweet moment in Theatre People's history. After close to 18 months of loyal service, Ian will be leaving us to follow his many other extra curricular pursuits, (as well cramming in a busy work schedule!). Ian joined us during a significant period of growth and I think I speak for all of us when I say that his contribution was nothing short of spectacular. He committed himself to our cause with incredible gusto and diligence and although I support his decision, he will be sorely missed. The good news is that his contribution will live on, long after he's left the building, such was the deep and profound impact he’s had. From all of us – Your staff and the readers we say (from the bottom of our hearts) – Thank you.
I will be taking over the creative responsibilities of Ian's role in the interim until I we appoint a new Editor In Chief. Anyone interested in finding out more about the role can email me directly at:
That's the bitter… Now the sweet…
I'm pleased to welcome Rebecca Clough to our team in the role of Operations Manager. This is a new role for the business, but essentially, Bec will be taking over a lot of Ian's operational responsibilities, ensuring the inner workings of Theatre People run smoothly. Bec is an experienced operations manager by day and a true theatre person, so I'm sure she will make a hugely positive impact on the business and get us working more efficiently and effectively than ever before. Bec can be contacted at:
I also have the pleasure of announcing that Kate MacDonald will also be joining the team as our new Professional Musical Theatre Editor. Many of you know Kate already through her work on the site and with Twisted Broadway (as well as her extensive theatre background). Kate has lots of connections in the professional world and she's passionate about giving the kind of in depth coverage that we pride ourselves on, so she was a natural fit for the role. Kate can be contacted at:
