$40 LOTTERY TICKET POLICY ANNOUNCED
The Book of Mormon today announced a ticket lottery, in which a limited number of $40 tickets will be sold by ballot before each performance at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.
The lottery will commence from the preview on Wednesday 28 February.
Entries will only be accepted in person, on the form provided, at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $40 each. Only one entry is allowed per person for a maximum of two tickets. Entries are checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the ballot and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Tickets are subject to availability.
Winner of nine Tony Awards® including Best Musical, the Grammy® for Best Musical Theatre album and four Olivier Awards® including Best New Musical, The Book of Mormon set a record for the highest grossing on-sale of any musical theatre production in Sydney’s history with more than 45,000 tickets sold by the end of the first day of public sales, and broke the house record for the highest selling on sale period of any production in the Princess Theatre’s 159-year history in Melbourne.
At the 2017 Helpmann Awards, The Book of Mormon was crowned winner of the coveted Best Musical award, while Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw were awarded Best Direction of a Musical.
Since making its world premiere in March 2011 at New York’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre, The Book of Mormon has played 360 consecutive weeks at more than 100% capacity on Broadway (standing room adds additional capacity), and 209 weeks at more than 100% capacity at theatres around the US and Canada. It has broken the house record at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre more than 50 times and set 103 house records at 56 theatres around North America.
The London production opened in February 2013, winning four Olivier Awards®, including Best New Musical. The Book of Mormon smashed box office records for the highest single day of sales in West End history, and has sold out every single one of its 2,082 performances thus far in London’s West End.

Co-directed by Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw, The Book of Mormon has choreography by Casey Nicholaw, set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Brian Ronan, orchestrations by Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus, and music supervision and vocal arrangements by Stephen Oremus.
