Wheeling into Melbourne after a world-touring two years away, the multi award winning Trash Test Dummies return with their riotous trash-can antics to surprise and delight audiences of all ages at Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 28 March – 12 April.
With two fantastically talented females starring in the show for the first time, be prepared for an uproarious adventure as the world-class troupe take on the humble household wheelie bin for an extraordinary array of slapstick storytelling, imaginative physical theatre, thrilling acrobatic skills and immersive entertainment.
Trash Test Dummies’ triumphant return to MICF follows six years of sell out seasons at Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s Underbelly, as well as most recently touring the UK and Singapore.
Newest recruit Sarah ‘Doogs’ McDougall (Circolombia, Circus Oz, Casus) brings boundless energy to the show, along with mind-boggling aerial stunts, despite being afraid of heights.
Amy Nightingale-Olsen, the first female to join the Dummies, brings her highly-flying acrobatic skills to Melbourne for the first time. Don’t let her small stature fool you; this trained gymnast is an Icarian Games (human foot juggling) champion, and has performed with Australia’s leading circus companies such as Circus Oz and Circa.
Crowd favourite Thomas McDonald once again returns with his unforgettable theatrical presence and feats of human strength. Thomas began his career at New Zealand’s Circus Aotearoa and has gone on to create and perform a number of inventive, acclaimed circus shows.
A firm favourite on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival program each year, Trash Test Dummies has won a slew of awards and rave reviews including Best Children’s Presentation 2016 and 2015 at Adelaide Fringe, runners up for Children’s Choice Award 2016 and a Best Kid’s Show nomination at the 2017 Melbourne Fringe.
