Emerging Australian-Taiwanese artist, Lansy Feng, is set to make her Melbourne Fringe debut this year with her cabaret, How I Met My Dead Husband.

Following its premiere season at The Butterfly Club this year, the cabaret will play at Gasworks Arts Park’s ARB Gallery from September 20, as part of the Howard Fine Acting Studio’s [email protected] program.

Set at a funeral in 1950s Taipei, Taiwan, How I Met My Dead Husband explores reincarnation and the meaning of love.

Chuen-Jiau is giving a eulogy for her dead husband, Yueh. She is cursed and has kept this secret for a long time. When a hardheaded woman is chasing her love, even Buddha can’t stop her. But how can you tell if it’s true love?

How I Met My Dead Husband interweaves songs in Mandarin, English, and French, spanning jazz, pop and music theatre genres.

September 20 – 27
