ROAR INTO THE 20’S!
This April, Holroyd Musical and Dramatic Society (HMDS) will take you on a journey to the roaring 20’s in their upcoming musical The Drowsy Chaperone.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical within a comedy that parodies American musical comedy in the 1920’s. The character, The Man in Chair, plays a record of his favourite musical, ironically called “The Drowsy Chaperone” and narrates the storyline with witty interjections and comments on the music, story and actors as the show comes to life onstage.
Lead by a spectacular cast of musical theatre performers consisting of Megan Walshe (Hairspray, Packemin Productions) as Janet, Levi Burrows (Packemin Productions & Birdie Productions) as Robert, Anthony Chester plays Man in Chair and Jordan Vassallo (Packemin Productions and HMDS Presidential alumni) as the outrageous Latin Lover, Adolpho alongside Katrina Shaw as The Drowsy Chaperone.
HMDS is a community-based society located in the newly amalgamated Cumberland area of Sydney. For the past 46 years HMDS has proudly produced an array of performances for the community’s entertainment and enjoyment. The Drowsy Chaperone will be an experience set to wow the Redgum Stage as audiences can look forward to being transported to a time full of feathers, pearls and pizzazz.
Experience the glitz and glam of the roaring 20’s for yourself this April in this musical comedy set to impress!
