10-Week Contemporary Voice Program and Performance at Chapel off Chapel.

10-Week Contemporary Voice Program

TAKE THE MIC is taking a new initiative into developing skills in live music by offering aspiring performers the opportunity to showcase their talent under the instruction of a professional contemporary music director.

The SHOWCASE ENSEMBLE will rehearse once per week for 10 weeks, which will result in a final concert performance. “Showcasers” will have the opportunity to perform along side a live band with wireless microphones, custom lighting design in a 200-seat theatre at CHAPEL OFF CHAPEL.

We are looking for an ensemble of 15-20 people. Each performer will be guaranteed solo and backup vocal and group opportunities with music arranged specifically for this production and to cater for our talent. During rehearsals performers will gain skills in (and not limited to):

Group performance
Microphone technique
Learning harmonies
Reading music

The program will also include two MASTERCLASSES that are included within the rehearsals.

– SAM LUDEMAN – The Reality of Reality TV: Auditioning for The Voice and
– ALICE BOTTOMLEY – Behind the Camera: X-Factor Australia

Rehearsals: Commencing 20th April

Showcasers are required to pay a total of $200 for the program which includes the two master classes. Tickets for the Showcase Concert are $27.50 each and will be available online during the rehearsals. Showcasers are encouraged to bring people to help promote their image and achievements.

-Have fun and be passionate

Audition applications require a youtube/vimeo or dropbox link of a video recording. Recordings don’t have to be of a professional standard, although the audio and visual quality needs to be clear. Our artistic team will review the application and will confirm your position 1st April. The ensemble will be selected based on the vocal range, abilities and vocal style.
