Are you serious about a career in musical theatre?
Are you missing out on the roles you want to play?
Take the next step towards the career you’ve always dreamed of!
Queenie van de Zandt knows about audition technique – she’s been studying it for over twenty years. Through observation, research and experience van de Zandt has developed a unique audition practice that has helped her former students gain leading roles in shows such as The Sound of Music, Matilda the Musical, Singin’ In The Rain and We Will Rock You. Her success has seen Queenie van de Zandt dubbed the “musical theatre star-maker”.
“Queenie’s course is set in a trusting and focused environment. I highly recommend it to anyone serious in learning how to audition for a musical and what the professional panels are looking for in a performer’s audition.” – Darren Yap, Director (Mamma Mia, Miracle City, Miss Saigon.)
Van de Zandt is bringing her Advanced Audition Technique for Musical Theatre Course, also known as “The Advanced Course” to Melbourne. The course consists of nine workshops run over five weekends in August and September. Van de Zandt will bring together some of Australia’s most experienced and respected musical theatre professionals who will work exclusively with the 20 course participants.
Not only do participants have the opportunity to learn van de Zandt’s audition technique, they also get to work with, and be seen by, Australia’s leading musical theatre directors, choreographers and musical directors. The Advanced Course also includes specialist industry master classes with top producers, casting agents and high profile performers. The whole course culminates in a public performance where graduates perform for invited industry guests as well as family and friends.
All up, the workshops total over 70 contact hours of tuition, including some private one-on-one tutorials with both Queenie van de Zandt and the course’s musical director, speciality master classes and several networking opportunities.
In addition to the workshop tuition, participants will receive a booklet by Queenie van de Zandt on audition technique, two CDs to help with overcoming nerves and a professional, industry-certified CV template. Participants will leave the course with an incredible repertoire of audition songs, including personalised backing tracks and sheet music, as well as a database with contacts including directors, theatre companies, producers, arts festivals, cabaret venues and much more.
Tutors for The Advanced Course include Queenie van de Zandt – Core Tutor (Follies, Into the Woods, King Kong), Martin Croft – Director (Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, Oliver), Dana Jolly – Choreographer (Funny Girl, We Will Rock You, Fiddler On The Roof), Mitchell Butel – Actor (Avenue Q, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Little Shop of Horrors), Michael Ralph – Choreographer (Georgy Girl, Pacific Overtures, Avenue Q) and Liza McLean – Producer (Little Shop of Horrors, Sweet Charity, The Ten Tenors) with more tutors still to be announced.
