LOOKING bedraggled and without his famous Wolverine muscles in sight, Hugh Jackman is a far cry from the all-singing, all-dancing Broadway star his fans love.
The Australian actor plays ex-convict Jean Valjean in Tom Hooper's film adaptation of the hit musical Les Miserables.
Great lengths were taken on set in London, where he is now filming, to obscure his gaunt appearance, ashen complexion and the scar on the side of his head.
The film also features Russell Crowe, who already has singing experience with his band 30 Odd Foot of Grunts. So does Jackman, who won a Tony Award in 2004 for playing Peter Allen in Broadway hit The Boy from Oz.
Les Miserables is scheduled for release on December 14.
