After earning 10 Tony Award nominations, the current Broadway hit Nice Work If You Can Get It has announced a U.S. national tour will hit the road in 2013.
The show is currently playing at the Imperial Theatre and stars two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick and Kelli O’Hara (who received a Tony nom for her performance).
The story revolves around Billie Bendix (O’Hara), a rough-and-tumble bootlegger who falls in love with wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter (Broderick), while attempting to hide contraband booze in his Long Island mansion.
Dates and cities for the tour have yet to be announced, however with classic Gershwin songs, including “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off” and “Sweet and Lowdown,” it looks like this show will be popular wherever it goes (Australia anyone?).
