Artists from the 2013 WA Opera Young Artists Program will brighten up a winter’s day on Wednesday 26 June in the Morning Melodies concert at His Majesty’s Theatre. 

This concert will feature memorable moments in opera, musical theatre and operetta, including favourite scenes from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Rossini’s Barber of Seville, Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Gilbert & Sullivan’s Mikado, Lehar’s Merry Widow and Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story.

The program showcases some incredible Western Australian talent featuring Emma Pettemerides (Soprano), Caitlin Cassidy (Mezzo Soprano), Richard Symons (Tenor), Thomas Friberg (Baritone), accompanied by Lochlan Brown with direction from Margrete Helgeby. 

West Australian Opera’s Young Artist Program aims to prepare developing voices for the next stage of their careers. Morning Melodies at His Majesty’s Theatre are Concerts for the young at heart.  Come with friends, and experience a one hour concert from some of Australia’s finest talent, followed by morning tea in the theatre foyer, where you will have the opportunity to meet the performers.
