Dirty Girl is the hotly anticipated debut show from Bec Charlwood.

Bec’s ability to keep things PG is not good – she can turn any subject blue. You would think it’s genetic, except her family are academics and high achievers, so she has no idea where her humour comes from.

Bec has quickly developed a reputation as one of the best young comedians in the country. In the last year she has supported Zoë Coombs Marr, Saturday Night Live’s Jay Pharaoh and performed at Splendour in the Grass.

See her first solo show this year and brag about it for many years to come.

How would you describe your show to someone who knew nothing about it?

It’s a girl telling dirty jokes! So, if you’re into one of those two things you’ll have at least a 50% chance of enjoying this show.

What/Who was its inspiration?

My Mum and her strong dislike for dirty jokes.

What do you think its best quality is?

It’s funny!

Why should people see it?

You don’t have to… but like if you like fun and  laughing, you should probably give it a crack, I reckon.

If there is one thing you would like to say to your fans, what is it?

Thankyou for giving me just enough money to only have to work my retail job 3 days a week! It’s been life changing and made me a better person. Who knows, maybe together one day we can get it down to two days! (Fingers Crossed!)

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your career?

My inability to stay employed in any job that requires me to show up before 11am.

Who makes you want to create, be funny – Who inspires you?

Ok, serious answer now, other female stand ups like: Ali Wong, Amy Schumer, Maria Bamford and Katherine Ryan, to just name a few. Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson from Broad City are amazing, also.

When did it become clear to you that comedy and entertainment were your passions?

Honestly, just right now, reading that question. So thank you!

What does comedy, creation and entertainment mean to you?

It means my parents never, ever, ever, ever being able to explain to people what I do for a job. Some of their guesses include: “She’s like Fitzy and Wippa on the radio”, “She’s doing sketch comedy like Monty Python,” “She is trying to get into acting, I think?”

What are 3 words that describe you?

Never not hungry.

What are 3 things that  would surprise people to learn about you?

I worked as a Zumba instructor for 4 years before I got into comedy, now I often get paid in beer and pub meals! Crazy Right?!

What is next for you?

Seeing the most beautiful and smart people in the audience tonight!;)
