Maz Jobrani is a founding member of The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour which first aired on Comedy Central and since became a successful touring show, bringing Maz to Australia for sellout shows.  He returns to Australia for two special shows only, with tickets going on sale on Monday 23 May at 9am.

Maz has had three television specials, Brown And Friendly, I Come In Peace and most recently, I’m Not A Terrorist, But I’ve Played One On TV.

Maz’s comedy tackles topics of politics, race, religion and other common issues that exist in our daily lives.  He takes pride in breaking down stereotypes about Iranians and the Middle East in general, and at a time when the Middle East and the West are in deep rooted conflicts Jobrani sets out to help bring the two worlds closer together.  He addresses Middle Eastern stereotypes so well that Queen Rania of Jordan has endorsed his work on YouTube

He performs stand-up live around the world, including the Middle East where he has performed in front of the King of Jordan.  Maz has also performed stand up on The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.  Most recently, he starred as the title character in the award-winning indie comedy, Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, a film he co-wrote and produced.

Last year he played the role of Jafar from Aladdin in the Disney movie, The Descendants.  With over 50 guest star appearances, Maz can regularly be seen on television’s most popular shows. Guest stars include Grey’s Anatomy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, True Blood, and Shameless.  He is a regular panelist on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and has given two TED Talks.

His LA Times Best Selling Book, I’m Not A Terrorist, But I’ve Played One On TV, was released last year.
