Les Miserables is now not only the hot topic on everyone's lips in the film world, but it is being brought back to the stage to continue it's reign of brilliance, and upholding it's reputation as one of the most classic theatrical tales of all time. And best of all, Cameron Mackintosh, one of the word's most renowned producers, has announced that it's hitting Melbourne first!

"Melbourne is now the natural home of theatre because it has looked after and increased its theatre stock,'' Mackintosh said from Los Angeles, where he attended the Oscars on Monday.

The new production will be staged at Her Majesty's in June 2014 and was vigorously pursued by the state government.

Casting begins next month.
