NIDA Open has confirmed leading entertainment industry identities Guy Edmonds (actor, ABC television’s A Very Moody Christmas), Shae Brewster (host, Seven’s Saturday Disney), Les Chantery (actor, Cedar Boys) and Natasha McNamara (voice coach, Tomorrow When The War Began) as tutors for its upcoming summer programs.

Guy, Shae, Les and Natasha are among a team of NIDA Open tutors who lead in their respective artistic fields. Acclaimed for their contribution to the entertainment and cultural industries, they will lend their expertise to students participating in NIDA Open’s Residency, Short Course and Studio programs. The programs commence in January 2013 and are conducted in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Courses range from a few days during holiday periods to year-round courses for those looking for advanced industry training.

NIDA Open provides the best possible training to aspiring actors and creative artists in a supportive, nurturing environment. These programs are built on NIDA’s educational expertise and are designed to provide dynamic, practical skills development, delivered by inspiring teachers. With more than 60 different courses to choose from this January in Sydney alone, there is a something to suit creative people of all persuasions on offer through NIDA Open.

Guy Edmonds, who recently starred in ABC Television’s A Very Moody Christmas and will soon direct his first feature film, will be teaching the Actors Residency course this January.

“What I love about teaching at NIDA is seeing students’ preconceptions of the craft of acting challenged and how they grow through having their boundaries pushed,” said Guy.

“It’s always exciting and rewarding to hear the success stories of people who come through NIDA Open’s courses and see the valuable connections they make while they’re here. I’m looking forward to being back in the rehearsal rooms to take the new Actors Residency course in January.”

Other industry identities who will be leading NIDA Open courses in 2013 include:

• Jennifer Hagan (actor, Mad Max: Fury Road; lecturer, NIDA higher education program)
• Sarah Giles (director, Sydney Theatre Company)
• Imara Savage (director, Sydney Theatre Company)
• Don Christopher (actor, Home and Away, Crownies)
• Darren Gilshenan (actor, A Very Moody Christmas, Save Your Legs)
