Melbourne Theatre Company’s world premiere production of Hungry Ghosts commences its regional tour in Bendigo today before going on to play at five other leading performing arts venues in Victoria, as well as Launceston College in Tasmania.

Hungry Ghosts is a new Australian work by Jean Tong starring Emina Ashman, Jing-Xuan Chan and Bernard Sam that offers an unconventional take on contemporary life as it criss-crosses between the fate of flight MH370, Malaysia’s billion-dollar 1MDB scandal, and explorations of identity.

Directed by Petra Kalive, Hungry Ghosts is part of MTC’s award-winning education program that reaches thousands of students across Victoria through programming for young audiences, regional touring, scholarships, workshops and more.
