The Kit Kat Club is returning to Sydney’s Hayes Theatre Co. in all its decadence for a new Australian revival of Cabaret from 9 January 2017.

Joining the amazing Paul Capsis as Emcee, Kate Fitzpatrick (Fräulein Schneider) and Debora Krizak (Fräulein Kost) will be Australian actress, singer and leading lady of musical theatre Chelsea Gibb as Sally Bowles.  The star-studded cast also includes Marcus Graham as Ernst Ludwig, John O’May as Herr Schultz, Jason Kos as Clifford Bradshaw, Michelle Barr as Fritzi, Nick Jones as Victor, Matthew Manahan as Gottfried and Michelle Smitheram as Helga.

Cabaret is based on The Berlin Stories by famous author Christopher Isherwood with songs and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb. Even though it is fifty years since the first Broadway performance, Cabaret’s message is as relevant now as it was then.

Legendary frontierswoman; notorious daredevil; profane storyteller; unwomanly radical – Calamity Jane is one of the most immediately recognizable figures of the old American West.

This stripped-back, rough-and-ready reimagining shucks off the buckskin and brings a barrelful of dirt and grit to the classic musical. Virginia Gay (TV’s All Saints and Winners & Losers; Hayes Theatre Co’s High Society) as the magnetic, masculine heroine – joined by a ragtag band of acclaimed comedic actors and musicians who share all the other roles Featuring timeless standards such as ‘The Deadwood Stage’, ‘Just Blew In From The Windy City’ ‘Black Hills of Dakota’, and ‘Secret Love’, this new main-stage production was inspired by the sold-out Neglected Musicals presentation of ‘Calamity Jane’ starring Virginia Gay in August 2016.

18 April – 14 May 2017

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish centres on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart, humour and spectacular stagecraft, Big Fish is an extraordinary new Broadway musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre – for an experience that’s richer, funnier and BIGGER than life itself.

Director Shaun Rennie
Musical Supervisor Daniel Edmonds

26 May – 25 June 2017

Following the success of their multi-award winning Miracle City, in May 2017 Luckiest Productions presents their second Australian musical revival – Only Heaven Knows. This brand new production will mark Only Heaven Knows’ 30th anniversary.

Under director Shaun Rennie, a star studded cast will perform this beloved musical set in 1940s and 1950s Sydney. Only Heaven Knows tells the story of one young gay man’s discovery of love and life in Kings Cross. Playing the dual role of Lea/Lana is Hayden Tee. This will mark Hayden’s return to Australia after his multi award-winning performance of Javert in Les Miserables. Blazey Best is reunited with Luckiest Productions for a second time to play the role of Guinea. Matthew Backer will make his Hayes Theatre Co. debut as Alan.

Musical Supervisor Daniel Edmonds swaps the massive musical for the intimate, having recently been Musical Director on such extravaganzas as Strictly Ballroom, King Kong and Dream Lover.
