The upcoming season of the international stage phenomenon and hit West End play Ghost Stories, at the Athenaeum Theatre, Melbourne, has been moved, now opening in September 2022.

Directed by Jeremy Dyson, Andy Nyman and Sean Holmes, the Ghost Stories season is confirmed to play at the Athenaeum from 13 September to 22 October 2022, with tickets for the new dates now on sale. All existing ticket holders will be contacted by their ticket provider directly regarding rescheduling performances.

The announcement comes as a result of the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, with extended lockdowns and the safety of cast, crew and audiences forming the basis of the decision.

“The decision to reschedule Ghost Stories at the Athenaeum Theatre was a disappointing one to make. The ongoing challenges of COVID-19 lockdowns, as well as lack of clarity on how the performing arts industry will return when the population reaches 70% and 80% vaccination levels has created a difficult landscape for event organisers. Ghost Stories is truly a thrilling production and we look forward to raising the hairs on the back of necks when we open in 2022,” said Realscape Productions producer, Amy Johnson.

“We thank the Ghost Stories audience for their support and look forward to welcoming them to the Athenaeum in September next year.”
