Building on many successful years as an official hub for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, Fringe at Gasworks is returning in 2017, playing host to 81 performances and one visual arts exhibition.

From Tuesday 12 September to Sunday 1 October, Gasworks Arts Park will present multiple performances with a focus on Circus, Theatre and Children’s shows. The park will take on a festival atmosphere, a vibrant space that gives everyone a sense of excitement and enjoyment.

Gasworks is thrilled to host Adult Circus favourites, Papillon in a new Unplugged show. 4.5 STARS “Promising nudity, sexual references and coarse language, it’s clear Papillon is not your average circus… The audience spent half the time gasping in amazement, and the other half howling with laughter” The West Australian. Cabaret legends, Finucane & Smith present the legendary scandal of wildest showgirl of the 19th Century, Lola Montez.

Family friendly offerings include an imaginative mash-up of steampunk and circus, The Man in the Mail  and the circus show loved by children Australia wide Le Petite Circus.  The spooky Spookmaster is an engaging, touching and energetic play that weaves storytelling and puppetry about Jack, the kid who doesn’t fit in.

To top off your night at Gasworks you can’t miss Nightmare, 9 minutes of unforgettable surreal puppetry inside a horsefloat.
