Feast began in 1997 by a group of arts and community cultural workers. Margie Fischer, Damien Carey, Helen Bock and Luke Cutler worked together to create a community arts festival for the lesbian and gay community in Adelaide – and now, Feast is a major event on the Festival calendar in South Australia. It is a truly international event, bringing performers from all over the world and attracting visitors from near and far.
Opening November 12 – come together Adelaide and celebrate the time of the year that is FEAST!
Light Square will once again become the vibrant Hub for Feast. The Ballroom and Lounge venues will host a torrent of world class cabaret and theatre performances, live music, films, literary events and even some outdoor cooking at The Camp Site, the fabulous new venue where you can enjoy improvised music nights, poetry readings or just sitting around the camp fire.
For the first time Feast will create an outdoor cinema, where you can enjoy free silent movies. There will be exhibition spaces for six high profile le queer art shows as well as revamping the outdoor stage, where local DJ’s and emerging musicians can play every night!
Light Square will host the huge Opening Night Party, Picnic After Party and Feast’s brand new CommUNITY Weekend. The middle weekend of Feast will be jam packed with a commUNITY expo, garage sale, a wellbeing retreat, an afternoon tea feast, circus workshops, giant board games, zumba, salsa, belly dancing classes and so much more!
There is something for everyone. So come and attend as many Feast events as possible and make the Hub the central meeting place for the LGBTIQ community and friends in November.
Feast acknowledges celebrations and their diversity on Kaurna land.
