Description
: A musical look at the courage it takes to follow your dreams, Tick, Tick… Boom! is Jonathan Larson’s autobiographical tale of a young composer on the brink of turning 30 and falling into oblivion. Containing fourteen songs, ten characters, three actors, and a band, tick, tick… Boom! takes you on the playwright/composer’s journey that led to the Broadway blockbuster, Rent.

Preparation: Please prepare 2 Pop/Rock songs, one being from a musical (PLEASE no songs from Tick, Tick… Boom or Rent). Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided.  Please also prepare a very short monologue (3 mins max).

If you have them, bring headshot and current resume.

Roles:
Jon- Male, 25-35 years old. Tenor (Range: A2 – A4 ). A struggling composer on the brink of his 30th birthday. Michael’s roommate and Susan’s boyfriend.

Michael- Male, 25-35 years old. Baritone/Tenor (Range: Bb2 – Gb4). A former actor-turned-market research executive. He is Jon’s roommate and best friend. Character Doublings include: COUNTER GUY, DAD, and MARKET RESEARCH GUY.

Susan- Female, 20-30 years old. Mezzo (Range: A3 – D5). A dancer and Jon’s girlfriend. Confident, sexy, kind, independent. Character Doublings include: KARESSA, ROSA, JUDY, and MOM.
Rehearsals – Sundays 1pm to 5pm & Mondays 7.30 pm to 10.30pm
