All auditionees must be between ages of 8-18 at time of performances.
Auditions will be held in group sessions lasting 45 minutes, including a solo singing/performance audition and a group dance audition. It is recommended that auditionees come dressed appropriately for a dance audition, in easy to move in clothing and dance appropriate shoes, so as to perform to the best of their ability.
Auditionees are asked to prepare one song from a musical or movie in the style of the show. It is recommended that auditionees bring a backing track to perform to, and there will be playback equipment including a cd player and AUX hookups for devices. If backing track is not feasible, there will be a pianist available to play, and auditionees are asked to bring sheet music in the correct key, with music placed in a display folder and with any cuts clearly marked.
Auditions will take place at the Fab Factory, located at 33 Industry Place, Bayswater.
Please note that, for our records, the audition may be filmed.
If accepted into the cast, memberships and show fees total $150, payable within the first month of rehearsals.

General Note: While Shrek the Musical is obviously based off a very famous and popular movie, we are excited to be putting our own “Fab Nobs” twist on the show. Please, if auditioning for a key role, do not audition thinking the character from the movie needs to be replicated completely. There is no pressure to perfect “Shrek’s voice” or copy Eddie Murphy’s Donkey. We are excited to see your own personalities, voices and ideas embody the characters and do not need to see perfect movie impersonations. Casting will not be constricted by gender either- so feel free to audition for whatever role you want and be open-minded. Finally, there is a huge opportunity to play a variety of roles. It is very likely that if you are cast outside of the “main leads” you will play several roles.
