MIDSUMMA SEASON 2021
*Melbourne Based Applicants Only*
About the Company: Smoke and Mirrors is a new Melbourne based theatre company dedicated to creating,
developing and fostering new theatrical works. Self-declared as ‘Unashamedly Showy’, Smoke and Mirrors
Productions revels in all the bells and whistles, presenting theatre that is fun, entertaining and beautiful.
About the Show: On the back of the success of ‘Sugarbabies: A Boylesque Musical’, ‘Scoundrels’ is a brand
new boylesque revue that delves into a world of love, jealousy, betrayal, lust and infidelity- all those deadly
sins that we hold near and dear to our hearts. In a cabaret courtroom, the beautiful Ziegfeld Boys stand trial
for the various sins they have committed against one another. The show is a brilliant blend of old world
burlesque, musical theatre and clever comedy dipped in sensuality and dusted with sequins.
Songs include: ‘Mein Heir’, ‘Whatever Lola Wants’, ‘Cell Block Tango’, ‘Too Darn Hot’, ‘If (You Hadn’t but You
Did)’, ‘Let’s Be Bad’, ‘Mr. Monotony’, ‘Sisters’, ‘The Saga of Jenny’, ’By Myself’ and many more!

who are self-confident and willing to be a bit cheeky. We are actively seeking performers of colour for this
show. Performers of all vocal ranges are encouraged to apply.
