Strathmore Theatrical Arts Group
by Nick Enright
Directed by George Benca
The play is set in a house overlooking Pittwater, north of Sydney, over two weekends in March in the late 80s. The second weekend the clocks are set back one hour as daylight saving ends.
Flick is a successful restaurateur trying to cope with a ‘gay chef’ crisis. Her husband Tom will be absent on their wedding anniversary managing a young neurotic tennis pro, Jason. Jason is having trouble with his psychic. Josh, an ex-boyfriend of Flick’s , is in town and gets an invitation to dinner. A stressed neighbour, Stephanie, keeps dropping in. Bunty, Flick’s nosy mother, is being difficult to get out of the house.
