Is There Life After High School? @ Wantirna | Victoria | Australia

PEP Productions are pleased to announce their auditions for

Is There Life After High School?

Book by Jeffrey Kindley

Music and Lyrics by Craig Carnelia

Suggested by the book by Ralph Keyes

Were you Student Body President? Cheerleader captain? Or the girl nobody asked to the prom? Or a guy nobody wanted to eat lunch with?

Is There Life After High School?  uncovers the depths of feeling behind the exposed high school myths, traces patterns of success and failure, analyses the roles played in our lives by the geeks, jocks, cheerleaders, and bookworms we once knew.

The show takes us cruising through the hallways of our high school memories to study this national phenomenon as it is recalled by adults who were supposed to have outgrown it.

Audition Requirements

All auditionees should prepare two songs (not from the show); one that shows off vocal range and the other that shows demonstrates your ability to create character. You may not be required to sing both songs but please be prepared if the production team requests.

Please bring sheet music (in the correct key) in a folder ready for the accompanist. Backing tracks cannot be used for this audition.

Please note it is unlikely you will complete songs so choose an appropriate part of the song which showcases your voice and range. Auditionees may be required to take part in a vocal range exercise.

All auditionees will also be required to perform a monologue, which can be downloaded from the PEP website. It is not expected that you will have memorised the monologue for the audition.

Bring a clear non-returnable head shot of yourself.

You may prepare a CV of your training and experience. Please provide details of singing, acting and dance training. If you don’t prepare a CV you will be asked to write these details on the audition form. The audition form will also be available for download on the PEP website to fill out before your audition.

The vocal audition should take approximately ten minutes. Please arrive with enough time to adequately prepare yourself.
Please note that all auditionees must be 18 or over at the time of the first rehearsal (January 2017).
