Sydney’s Sunday Telegraph is today reporting that stage performer and popular morning television presenter, David Campbell, will return to the stage later this year in Sydney to play Bobby Darin, American singer/songwriter and actor of the 50s and 60s.
According to the Telegraph, Campbell is taking on the title role in Dream Lover, The Bobby Darin Musical. The news will formally be announced in an event at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, The Star tomorrow.
“I have a real connection to this role,” Campbell told the Telegraph.
“Bobby’s family and his life journey not knowing who his parents were, and the confusion of being raised by a grandmother, that is a terrific thing for me to tap into.”
