The rumours are true! Hot on the heels of the worldwide success of Tom Hooper’s film adaptation of Les Misérables, Sir Cameron Mackintosh this week announced that Les Mis is headed back to Australian stages!

Still in the very early stages with any details pertaining to auditions, dates, or cities still to be announced, Mackintosh announced to Graham Norton over the weekend that new production of Les Mis, that was revised for the 25th anniversary of the musical, WILL be heading down under.

“It’s in it’s 28th year and, you know, over the next two years I have eight new productions of Les Misérables. The new production of Les Misérables I did for the 25th anniversary, which is doing better business than the original across America and is about to open back on Broadway, going to Tokyo, going to Australia, everywhere again. It’s mind boggling”

Exciting news for all theatre fans. We''ll keep you updated with all the news relating to production and cast as they are announced.
