I am at present working on a history of drama, media and dance at Rusden College. I usually write about Melbourne people and places. During the last 20 years I have written books about Collins Street, St Kilda Road, the Port of Melbourne, Prahran Tech, the Institute for the Blind and a biography of the writer, George Turner, but in my other lives I have written and performed one and two person shows at places like La Mama, written feature articles for Quadrant, Arena and The Age Monthly Review. I have also translated plays from Hungarian to English in the 1980s. I am an active member of the International writers’ organisation PEN.
