After a sell-out run of 2016 comedy festivals around the country, smash-hit Melbourne sketch comedy trio Aunty Donna has announced a national tour during June and July.

New Show was the hot ticket at this year’s Adelaide Fringe, as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne International, Sydney and Perth Comedy Festivals. Aunty Donna will now take the show back on the road for return seasons in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne, as well as Darwin, Canberra, Newcastle and Wagga Wagga, commencing Friday June 3.

Comprised of Ballarat drama school friends, Broden Kelly, Zachary Ruane and Mark Samual Bonanno, Aunty Donna has made a lot more noise since their massive year last year. Their funded 10-part sketch series – 1999 – for YouTube under the Google and Screen Australia Skip Ahead initiative just aired its final episode, however, their brand new series Trendy has since commenced as part of Comedy Central Australia’s first ever commission.

2015 was also a sell-out year for the Donnas at the MICF, London’s Soho Theatre, and their second Edinburgh Festival Fringe. While in the UK they also performed live on BBC Radio 4, the breeding ground for Flight of the Conchords and The Mighty Boosh.
