Following the success of one of Melbourne’s most hyped opening nights in some time, producer Tim Lawson has announced a limited extension to the current season of the Broadway smash hit musical A Chorus Line at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

Now playing to packed houses and rave reviews, Mr Lawson said "We are ecstatic at the way audiences and critics have embraced A Chorus Line and it’s sensational cast. This extension will cater for the great demand for tickets and allow a greater number of people to experience this wonderful production."

Six new shows (from Tuesday 6 March to Saturday 10 March) will go on sale through Ticketek tomorrow, Friday 10 February.

"I always felt the time was right to revive A Chorus Line with the popularity of such shows as Australian Idol, X Factor and So You Think You Can Dance. It is appealing to both traditional and new, young theatre audiences."

Based on true stories, A Chorus Line offers an intriguing insight into the lives of Broadway dancers through captivating song, riveting drama and stunning choreography.

It revolutionised Broadway for 15 years becoming the longest running musical in Broadway history winning nine Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, seven Drama Desk Awards, the New York Critics Circle Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The Melbourne production will now run through to Saturday 10 March before embarking on further touring.
