In May 2014, CLOC Musical Theatre will proudly stage its 100th production, and we want to share this very special occasion with a spectacular celebration of all that is joyous about musical theatre. So what better show than a show about putting on a show – a lullaby of Broadway!
And so CLOC proudly announces its 100th production –
Director: Alan Burrows
Choreographer: Susan Lewis
Musical Director: Bev Woodford
Assistant Director/Choreographer: James Rooney
Costume Design: Victoria Horne
When CLOC staged 42nd Street in 1996 at the Alexander Theatre, Monash University, the season proved to be one of CLOC’s most successful productions in its history. We are delighted to welcome back Alan Burrows (for his 19th CLOC show) and Susan Lewis (for her 8th CLOC show), the same creative team behind that hugely popular production 18 years ago, who will restage a new version of this spectacular hit at the National Theatre in St Kilda, with a salute towards the significance of the occasion.
CLOC wants this production to be a glorious celebration of all that is so exciting and fabulous and wonderful and heart stopping and fulfilling about being involved with musical theatre. And we want to share this special occasion with CLOC alumni, near and far, past and present, old and young, so mark May 2014 in your diaries now! Auditions will be held in early November and we invite all members of our talented and amazing Melbourne theatre community to come along.
Get out your tap shoes, go into your dance and let’s celebrate!
