Attitude Dance Company is excited to announce that their 2016 production of SIGNIFICANCE is returning in 2017 to the Courthouse Youth Arts in Geelong and to Chapel off Chapel in Melbourne this August.

An original work by 25 year old Geelong based choreographer Xavier McGettigan, SIGNIFICANCE explores the moments we share collectively, and interdependently of others, throughout our lives. Some moments dramatic and overwhelming while others seemingly inconsequential until their significance is realised upon reflection years later.

Six new dancers join the cast of SIGINIFICANCE in August and audiences can expect to be moved by the intense and beautiful choreography presented by student and emerging dancers from both Geelong and Melbourne.

Company director and choreographer Xavier McGettigan says of the show: “ With no overall narrative, the 20-strong cast of SIGNIFICANCE go on a mesmerising journey, with many twists and turns in a collection of tender and powerful performances. Experience the highs and lows, happiness and sadness, the quiet and frantic moments and the general complexities of human emotion and life, all through the medium of contemporary dance. We are are very excited to be making our debut in Melbourne with this original work.“

Previous performances by the company have included Headcase (Courthouse Youth Arts), The Man About Town (The Potato Shed) and SIGNIFICANCE (Geelong College, Keith Humble Centre). Attitude Dance Company prides itself on original choreography, emotional performances and passionate artists. In the last few years Attitude Dance Company has been providing dance education and holiday workshops in a range of dance styles across Geelong.

SIGNIFICANCE opens for three shows only, Friday August 11th and Saturday August 12th at Courthouse Youth Arts in Geelong, VIC. and Sunday August 13th at Chapel off Chapel, Prahran, Vic. Tickets are available online by visiting Attitude Dance Company’s website:
